Our Working Wethers (aka Heat Sniffers)

We like to keep several adult wethers in with the doe herd in order to help us know when a doe is in standing heat. We watch the wethers and their behaviors and interactions with the doe.  When standing heat is observed in the does, we bring them out to be hand-bred or AIed.
