Gypsy Moon MO Starbuck has come home to Twin Willows.  Starbuck is the 3 year old progeny of CH Rosasharn BB Chocolate Moose and Rosasharn SS Unique. The udder genetics on this guy are tremendous, and we have his first daughter due to freshen at Christmas. =)

Along with the return of Starbuck, we have added a sweet little red doe to our herd.  Sage-Acres SHO Lucki N Love is the progeny of Sandy Hollow UK Hickory Oak and Sage-Acres DOS Taboo.  She is showing nice spring of rib, smooth blending throughout, and very nice natural width between the hocks for her tender age of nearly 8 months. We spotted her at a friend's farm and just loved her. Here are some pictures of her from earlier this year on another farm.

One of my friends has contacted me for help in finding a new home for this 6-year-old Australian Shepherd.  She is a great herding dog, but is extremely gun shy (even runs at the sight of a gun).  She is experienced with cattle. She is spayed and is up to date on all vaccinations and is very healthy.  If you are interested in adding a working dog to your herd contact me at ericamccarter@gmail.com

This girl is located in Thorntown, Indiana and is free to good home.

Playing catch up today. Brandon helped me get a few individual pictures of the new doelings last week. These were taken when they were about five days old. Today, they are twelve days old and growing FAST!

As I have mentioned before, we recently completely remodeled our barn by building new stalls, painting the walls and sealing the floors. Below is a slideshow of results. We essentially have split the barn into two halves with the animal stalls in the west half, and our living area and maintenence/milking parlor in the east half. During the winter, we spend alot of time in our barn, so a futon and table and chairs next to the wood stove was essential! We absolutely LOVE how it turned out, as it is both extremely functional and cozy, and the Rustoleum Epoxy we sealed the floor with makes cleanups easy!

Exciting New Additions & Show Results

Yesterday, we attended the Summit City Classic ADGA Open Show at Fort Wayne.  All in all it was a good show, with some amazing competition!  We showed three junior does, two senior does, two junior bucks and two senior bucks. We didn't come away with any ribbons this time, but it was a very positive experience and, as always, we learned ALOT!  Our next show will be in Washington, Indiana on September 21st where we will be showing bucks and junior does.

We are extremely excited to announce that we are adding two new does to our herd. Drumroll please...

Jasper Pine SHH Cali
Cali is the dam to our beloved Tator Tot, who we lost earlier this year to a suspected auto-immune disorder.  She is the progeny of CH Algedi Farm Smokin Hot Honey (Algedi Farm Drops of Jupiter X Rosasharn's UMT Tupelo Honey) and Jasper Pine Hot Cocoa (Rosasharn Tom's Keiki Kane X Kaapio Acres Golden Daisy). Cali is so sweet, and she reminds us so much of our Tator.

Along for the ride, is Cali's 2013 doeling out of Rosasharn SH Epic *B (Rosasharn BB Son of Honey X Rosasharn P Haiku) who sold for $8700 at the 2011 ADGA National Convention Spotlight sale  - the highest valued goat in the sale as well as the highest selling in the ADGA Spotlight Sale for the past 15 years!

Jessie is a little sweetheart, just like her momma, and we are honored and humbled to have the opportunity to add both of them to our herd.

Updates and Baby Names Announced

Sorry it's been so long! We have been crazy busy finishing up the remodel of the barn (It's done!), and getting goats ready for Summit City Classic this weekend.  I haven't had time to get individual pics of the new babies yet, but I wanted to get their names announced.  I took this pic a few days ago.  Everyone is happy and healthy and growing like weeds!

The little chocolate and white doe closest to her momma is Twin Willows SB Bitta Hopenluv (Hope).  She had a rough start to life and with a bit of hope and love, she is now thriving!  The little black and white doe who is showing you her butt is Twin Willows SB Bianca Aerie, and the black and white doe up on the platform is Twin Willows SB Buckle Bunny.  All three have been retained to the farm for now. They are all real beauties!

Like I said, we are taking our boys and girls up to Fort Wayne this Saturday for the Summit City Classic Goatpalooza. This will be our third year attending, and we absolutely love this show! There should be some great competition there. If you are out and about in Fort Wayne on Saturday come see us!  Just look for the black and white Twin Willows banner.

I have pics compiled of the barn remodel, and I'll get them in a slideshow on the website soon!
