Farm Updates

I haven't blogged in quite awhile, so I thought I had better give some updates as to happenings on the farm.  Last week, Cleveland and Beyonce had 8 kits, and within 48 hours they had all died.  Beyonce is just not making enough milk to sustain her babies, so we took her and Cleveland out of their cages and let them go in the pasture.  They are now two rabbits who are free to roam!! They have both been seen nearly every day running around and hiding under a big brush pile.  They are busy making a new house, and they look very happy, and we figure that if they do, not if...WHEN they do have more babies that they might have the best chance of survival out in the wild.  The dismantling of our rabbitry has freed up some space in the barn, and we are looking at the best ways to utilize it.

We finished Topper's house and fenced in a 10' X 84' area for him to live in.  He seems really happy out there, but I think he is a little bit lonely, so we are looking for a buddy for him to play with.  Brandon is on a trip to Huntington right now to look at a mini donkey! =)

We had one puppy left to give away, but after noone asked about her for several days, we decided to keep her.  (She was my favorite anyways!) And so now our canine friends are Tonka (Staffordshire Terrier),  Lily (Shih-tzu), and two of Lily's pups who we have named Bella and Stella.

This week has been slow on the farm, since we have had RAIN every single day.  Even the goats want to stay inside where it's dry. Hopefully, it will stop raining soon!!  I know that I really need to take some new pics and post them.  Will do so soon!
